Training (online via webinar and eLearn)

  • eLearn Education Leaders is a self-paced online course for education workforce professionals who are responsible for personnel impacted by the information sharing reforms and who will play a role in the change management process.
  • eLearn Education Professionals is a self-paced online course designed for people working in schools, education and care services who are likely to share information and require a detailed operational understanding of the reforms. It is designed to support education professionals to share information confidently, safely and appropriately.
  • Webinar: Information Sharing for Education Professionals is an interactive online webinar designed for all educational workforce staff who need a detailed operational understanding of the information sharing reforms. It will build workforce confidence in how to safely share information under CISS and FVISS, and how to meet record keeping requirements.

Toolkit and contextualised guidance for education and care services

A toolkit and contextualised guidance is available to all Victorian schools and centre-based education and care services on the department’s Child protection privacy and information sharing websiteExternal Link . These documents provide detailed guidance on CISS and FVISS for all education services on how to share and request information.

Child Protection and Child Safe Standards (PROTECT)

The department’s PROTECT website applies to all employees, contractors and service providers and includes advice on how to create a child safe environment, identify and report signs of abuse and mandatory reporting requirements. Ministerial guidelines

The ministerial guidelines for the information sharing schemes provide detailed guidance about the circumstances under which information can be shared between professionals. The ministerial guidelines are legally binding for all information sharing entities. Refer to:
