Flexible Work for Classroom Teachers funding

2025 program

The Flexible Work for Classroom Teachers initiative supports teachers in a job-share or part-time arrangement. The funding allows eligible teachers to have a cross-over day with their job-share partner or will support a new or increased part-time arrangement. The initiative aims to support schools to facilitate flexible work arrangements to promote work-life balance.

Under this initiative, the Department of Education (the department) provides a grant of $20,000 to support a classroom teacher in an eligible flexible work arrangement for up to 12 months.

All 300 grants have been allocated, with funding for the initiative ending by 30 June 2026.

Application process

All 300 grants for the 2025 school year have now been allocated. Funding for this initiative concludes on 30 June 2026. However, if you are a current participant in the initiative or wish to express interest in funding for the remainder of the 2025 school year, we could place you on a waitlist. Please contact swg_policy.initiatives@education.vic.gov.au.

Please note that submitting an expression of interest (EOI) for funding is separate from a flexible work application made under this Flexible WorkExternal Link policy.

If funding is received under this initiative, the staff member will still need to complete a flexible work application.
