Municipal Council
Employees who are elected as municipal councillors will be granted leave of absence with pay for periods of up to 3 hours per fortnight to attend council meetings during their term in office or, where special occasions arise, 6 hours per month.
Employees who are elected as mayors and shire or municipality presidents will be granted leave of absence with pay for periods of up to 3 hours per week to attend council meetings during their term in office or, where special occasions arise, 6 hours per fortnight.
Employees who are the spouse of a mayor or shire president may be granted leave of absence with pay for periods of up to 4 hours per month to attend official functions.
Employees attending meetings of water authorities may be granted leave of absence with pay for periods of up 3 hours per fortnight. However, if the employee is also a municipal councillor, mayor or shire president, any absence is within the arrangements set out above.
Committee of Management
Employees who are elected as chair or president of a committee of management of a community organisation may be granted leave of absence with pay for periods of up to 3 hours per week to fulfil their official functions during their term in office or, where special occasions arise, 6 hours per fortnight.
Employees who are elected as a committee member of a committee of management of a community organisation may be granted leave of absence with pay for periods of up to 3 hours per fortnight, or where special occasions arise, 6 hours per month.
Member of Parliament

Employees who are spouses of Members of Parliament will be granted leave of absence with pay for periods of up to 4 hours per month to attend official functions associated with their spouses' duties.
Government Officer
Employees who are spouses of senior officers of a State or Commonwealth department or statutory authority may be granted leave without pay to accompany the officer on official duties.
