Ministerial Orders — Employment

Overview

The Minister for Education has the power under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 to make orders relating to the employment of teaching service employees, school council employees and the government early learning centre (Government ELC) workforce.

Teaching service employees

The teaching service comprises employees in the executive class, principal class, teacher class, paraprofessional class and education support class employed under Part 2.4 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.

The following Orders currently apply to teaching service employees:

Teaching service (employment conditions, salaries, allowances, selection and conduct) Order 2022

• Ministerial Order 1388

Principal (selection procedures and grounds for review)

• Ministerial Order 1006 — applies to positions advertised from 2 October 2017

School council employees

School councils may employ education support class employees, casual relief teachers and other non-teaching staff under Part 2.3 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.

The following Order currently applies to school council employees:

• Ministerial Order 1389

Government ELC workforce

The Government ELC workforce comprises employees in the executive class, director class, early childhood teacher class, educator class and early learning support class employed under section 2A.1.4(1) of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.

The following Order currently applies to the Government ELC workforce:
